The course « The economics of environmental policy » will cover a selection of issues on the economic analysis of environmental policy, all of recent scientific activity and policy relevance. It will introduce you to some of the seminal models in the literature as well as to current research on the issues.
The articles listed under each topic in the reading list are but a small selection of research on the issue, obviously. Articles marked with an asterisk should be read by everyone, whereas the other articles are an inroads into the subject for those who are interested in the particular topic. The general structure of each class is to go through one main theoretical model and then provide background and further material (empirical tests, for example) as optional reading. The topics below are indicative and may change. We will post updated syllabi on the APE website.
